SunState Safeguard Measures
At SunState Federal Credit Union we are
dedicated to providing our membership with premium services.
This means we take our members security seriously by protecting
their information using the best technology available.
- SSL- Secure Socket Layers (SSL) use
private keys and 128 bit encryption to secure data. In plain
English, SSL allows a secure connection between your web
browser and a web server. When you come across a web page
that is secured, your browser will likely display a 'closed
lock' or other symbol to inform you that SSL has been enabled.
The web site address should also now start with "https://"
rather than the usual "http://".
- Firewalls- SunState Federal Credit
Union maintains firewalls to prevent unauthorized access
to our system from the outside. The firewall acts as the
first line of defense for SunState members.
- Virus Protection- SunState protects
your information by keeping up to date on our Anti-Virus
software. We also recommend that members also use anti-virus
software and use it to scan any files that members download,
including files downloaded from SunState.
- Email- Do not email SunState with
personal information such as you Account number or Social
Security Number. Email is not considered to be secure. Members
can use the confidential Home$Banking Message center to
contact SunState or refer to the Contact
Us page for published phone numbers. Non-Members can
contact SunState by filling out the Online
Service Request Form or stop by any branch
location.
SunState will not use email to convey personal information
(birthday, SSN, account number or address) nor sensitive
information (access codes, Visa numbers, account information).
- Call Center- SunState employees will
not call you with requests to confirm sensitive information.
If you receive such a call, notify the branch manger or
call center supervisor immediately so that additional steps
may be taken to block accounts from attempted intrusion
and/or fraud. Scams and fraud should be reported to law
enforcement immediately.
If it sounds too good to be true be alert, don't fall victim
to scam artist.
- Home$Banking Message Center- The message
center inside of your Home$Banking account can be used to
convey sensitive or confidential inquires and information
to our call center staff who will respond in a secure manner.

information such as inquiries about our products and services.
- How to Contact Us- SunState provides
published numbers where you may call to discuss time sensitive
matters such as placing stops on checks, last credit cards
or to report suspicious incidents to initiate investigation
of potential fraud.

code for telephone information, inquiries and transactions.

to fraud alerts in credit reporting agency files and take the time to
discuss questionable items with members. Employs behavioral monitoring
to identify suspicious transactions and block plastic cards until we
confirm the transactions are authorized. Informs law enforcement of
criminal activities and suspicious incidents. Safeguards information
collected until it is destroyed by SunState or a bonded agency we contract
and the documents are removed from premises.
